Many factors are involved in the timely and legal return of your vehicle. See below for the most common questions asked about vehicle releases.

My vehicle has been towed. How can I claim my vehicle?

Most vehicles that have been towed require a release from the impounding agency. Please call ahead to see if your vehicle requires a release. If the vehicle does not require a release, the registered or legal owner may claim the vehicle after providing proper identification and paying all fees.

What are your office hours?

Our offices are open from 7:00am to 7:00pm, 7 days a week, including holidays.

How can I find out if my vehicle has been towed by U.S. Tow?

You may click on the link below, or you may call our offices for information. Please be aware that vehicles do not appear immediately in the system, however, all information is entered as soon as possible, usually within an hour after it has been towed.

How can I remove property from my vehicle?

In general, any vehicle on hold requires a property release to remove anything from the vehicle. Only items that are not attached to the vehicle (by bolts, wires or otherwise), may be removed. Only the registered or legal owner with proper identification may remove property from the vehicle. Personal property may be claimed during office hours.

My vehicle has been impounded and I can’t afford to pay the fees. What can I do?

Several options may be available to the owner of a vehicle who can’t afford the fees. You may be able to surrender the title to U.S. Tow at a reduced fee, however, you can’t have a lienholder on the vehicle when requesting to surrender your title.

You may also be able to surrender your title at no cost to you, but this option is only available within the first 24 hours a vehicle was impounded, and only under certain circumstances. Please come in to our office to discuss surrendering your title.

Please note: the registered owner of the vehicle is responsible for all charges incurred against a vehicle. You may not abandon your vehicle. If your vehicle has been sold at auction you will still be responsible for all charges that were not covered by the sale price.

Remember that the cost to remove your vehicle from impound increases daily.

My vehicle has been impounded for 30 days. Is there any way that I can get my vehicle out prior to the thirty days expiring?

Usually a vehicle that is being held for 30 days will only be released after the 30 days have passed. If you feel that your vehicle has been towed in error, you may request a vehicle impound hearing with the agency who towed your vehicle.
